The Farm
The CLCC Farmstead Village is an innovative response to the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. A 100+ acre farm is envisioned where homes can be built and jobs created for up to 80 people (approximately 20 disabled, 60 nondisabled). A viable business plan to establish the farmstead is being developed. It will be rooted in our local food system to create durable, productive and rewarding job opportunities. The housing plans are based on principles of community integration, relationship-building and diversity.
The plan will be implemented in phases. Each phase will be reasonable in scope and manageable according to our capabilities at that stage. Phases will be planned and executed individually but not in isolation. The Farmstead Village will remain an integrated whole as it grows over time.
