Events that educate, demonstrate, inform and engage the community about the needs of people with developmental disabilities, how CLCC will address these needs, and the benefits to the community in which the farmstead village will be located.
Greenhouse Entrepreneurial Program
- Will create a sustainable, agricultural micro-business for the future CLCC Farmstead Village.
- Will be a vibrant year round business with loyal customers and have a reputation as a leader of effective social enterprise development in central Connecticut.
- Will grow organic greens and flowers; provide vocational training for three adults with developmental disabilities; provide horticultural therapy for three senior citizens; distribute regularly to five local restaurants and grocery stores in 2012.
- Will demonstrate our business philosophy as a caring production of fresh foods that benefit the consumer through healthy eating options and the growers through respectful work within a therapeutic setting.
- Is positioned to begin growing March 1, 2012
